Introduction to the course
Whether you are interested in setting up your own business or developing skills that can be transferred to a wide range of careers, this course is a great first step to exploring business.
This course is aimed at adults, is a great first step back in to education and can easily fit in around part time work or parental responsibilities. It is a one year course run on one day per week, from 9.30-2.30.
Topics studied include developing customer relations, business communication, working in teams, finance and people in organisations.
What do I need?
Level 1 Diploma in Business or at least four GCSEs including English and Maths at grades 3 to 1 (D to G) or Functional Skills at Level 1.
You will need to attend an interview, have a good reference and an excellent attendance record.
How is the course taught?
This is a part time course run on Tuesdays from 9.30am -2.30 pm You will be taught through a series of workshops, guest speakers and visits.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by a range of different methods such as observations, witness testimony, worksheets, assignments, projects, reports, discussions and verbal and written questioning.
What does it lead to?
Once you have successfully completed this course, you will have the opportunity to progress on to the next level of study at level 3, developing your skills and knowledge at a more advanced level. Alternatively, you may wish to complete an apprenticeship or employment within a junior administration role. This business qualification is adaptable across a wide range of sectors and industries, leading to exciting opportunities within logistics, sales, marketing, management, retail, customer service and many more.
