Introduction to the course

You will study a range of modules that will give you a good basic understanding of business theory and working in various business settings. Units include team work, business events, communication skills, working in a business environment and using ICT. You will also develop your functional skills in English and Maths and develop your employability skills

What do I need?

You will need to be at least 16. You will need to come to the College to attend an interview, pass an initial assessment, which is a test to check your level of English and maths, have a good reference and a good attendance record

How is the course taught?

This course is taught in classrooms, and includes workshops, guest speakers and visits. A day release work placement is an essential part of the assessment for this programme.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by assignments, presentations, discussions and examinations throughout the year.

What does it lead to?

You could progress to a Level 2 programme, further training through an apprenticeship or go directly into employment.
