Introduction to the course

If you want to use your life experience to care for others and are considering a career in health and care, this course is designed for you.  

The course will give you a good introduction to work in health and care, and will give you the opportunity to improve your literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. 

You will study:

  • Communicating and working with clients

  • Rights, policies and guidelines

  • Clinical understanding

  • Developing personal and work skills

  • English and maths

What do I need?

You will need to be at least 16 years of age with a keen interest in health and social care.

You will need to come to an interview, pass an assessment, have a good

reference, an 87% attendance record and a Pass at the previous level.

You must show the ability to work at Entry Level 3. Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks are required.

How is the course taught?

The course is taught through a mixture of written, observations, a series of online and written tests as well as practical elements.

How will I be assessed?

Through a portfolio of evidence collected from written assessments, presentations, witness statements and practice observation.

Entry Level
