Introduction to the course

This course is for people who have passed FS English level 1 and are ready for Level 2. These courses are designed to prepare and help learners to acquire the skills needed to achieve the FS skills level 2 exams all modes (reading/writing and speaking and listening.

What do I need?

Applicants must complete an initial assessment before joining the course and show the requisite skills needed for level 2 in reading/writing and speaking and listening (applicants must be fluent in English)

How is the course taught?

The course runs over one or two days, 4.5 hours per week for a year. Students have a teacher and are guided to develop reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Students are expected to be able to work independently, in groups and via technology though a variety of tasks and assignments. Students also get exam practices over the year.

How will I be assessed?

This course is externally assessed, by a recognised awarding body. Students must complete reading and writing exams under strict exam conditions and successfully complete speaking and listening assignments which are internally marked and externally verified.

What does it lead to?

Students who complete this course should be ready to progress onto GCSE or vocational courses.

Entry Level
