Introduction to the course
The Level 4 certificate is a teaching qualification, in which you will gain a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer, planning for inclusive learning, methods in delivering and assessing in education and training, and the use of resources in education and training.
What do I need?
You should be qualified/experienced in the subject you wish to teach to at least Level 3, with good levels of language, literacy and numeracy. You should be IT literate. You will undertake an initial assessment of your skills in English and mathematics. You must have access to 30 hours of teaching. This qualification is also suitable for those delivering education and training in any learning environment.
How is the course taught?
A wide range of teaching methods are used to meet your learning requirements, including lectures, group activities, workshop, tutorials and sessions in assignment writing.
How will I be assessed?
You will be continuously assessed throughout the course by a combination of assignments and observation of teaching or training. Assessment is subject to external verification.
What does it lead to?
Progress onto Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET)
