Introduction to the course
This is a one year full-time course that allows you to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the travel and tourism sector
You will study:
- Worldwide Destinations
- Promotions and Sales in Travel and Tourism
- Special Interest Tourism
- Conferences and Events
- Tourism in the UK
- Work Placement in Travel and Tourism
You will take part in a two week work placement within the travel and tourism sector.
What do I need?
Four GCSEs at grade C or above or an equivalent Level 2 qualification at grade Merit or above with Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 2 and a good reference.
How is the course taught?
The course is mainly classroom-based and taught over three days each week at the Enfield Centre. You will gain valuable experience of the travel sector, with work placements, trips, visits and activities organised alongside your studies. This will help to develop your CV in preparation for future employment.
How will I be assessed?
This course is assessed by, set assignments, projects, presentations, case study work and group research tasks with one unit assessed by an online examination.
What does it lead to?
This course leads to further study, employment or apprenticeship.
The knowledge, skills and understanding gained through the units taught link to industry standards and requirements and prepare learners for work in a wide range of employment settings within the travel and tourism industry.
