This apprenticeship is for apprentices who work in, or who want to work in business administration roles such as: Personal Assistant, Office Executive or Office Supervisor. The qualification gives learners the opportunity to: • Develop and demonstrate technical and wider sector-related knowledge to underpin competence in the job roles stated above. This includes the knowledge covering the broader cross-organisation processes such as business innovation, financial management and marketing, as well as the principles and practices underpinning the tasks and responsibilities related to the job roles above such as methods of communication and information management. • Develop and demonstrate a range of technical skills and behaviours that supports competence in the job roles stated above. These include developing and managing administrative systems, processes and staff. For example, using a range of internal and external communication methods and the systems that support them, organising diaries, meetings and travel, managing resources and facilities, managing administrative processes and systems and supervising staff.

Average Duration: The apprenticeship runs for 12 to 18 months

Course Information

The Advanced Business Administration Apprenticeship is made up of a framework which includes:

  • Business and Administration Diploma Level 3
  • Maths Functional Skills Level 2
  • English Functional Skills Level 2
  • ICT Functional Skills Level 2
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities


Apprentices may progress on to full time employment or Higher Apprenticeships in Business and Administration and or Team Leading/ Management Apprenticeships.


The apprentice is expected to attend college to attain knowledge, training and complete online exams. In addition, they will also be trained by the employer and expected to complete an online e-portfolio.

How to apply

You can apply through the college application. Once you have applied to the college, you will be invited for an interview at the college and also with the potential employer.

Entry qualifications

Applicants will be assessed and interviewed to demonstrate that they are able to cover the range required by the relevant NVQ at work. In addition, the apprentices are expected to carry out initial assessments in English and Maths where they would be expected to ideally achieve Level 2 in both subject areas. If an apprentice has GCSE then they don’t have to complete functional skills as a part of the apprenticeships.

Employers and apprentices can combine and choose units from the table on the right column but the tutor/assessor will discuss this at the induction


One day a week at our Tottenham Campus or Enfield Centre and the rest of the time working closely with an employer. However, if the employer would like the qualification delivered onsite due to work commitments then the college would accommodate that.
