We offer Key Stage 4 students the opportunity to get involved in a number of inspiring workshops to explore their interests, enhance their skills and introduce them to job-related courses. This is part of our commitment to giving young people impartial Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG). We want to help students make the right course choices through the workshop model. We offer advice and guidance at these sessions so that young people are armed with the facts to enable decisions on courses to be discussed, planned and in-line with life goals.
Students will come up with a business idea, develop a business plan and present their ideas at the end of the workshop. The session will introduce students to concepts of marketing, distribution and business strategies, encouraging them to become entrepreneurs of the future. This workshop is held at the Enfield Centre.
Students can visit our construction centres at either Tottenham or Enfield, where we have recently invested £2.2 million, for a hands-on practical workshop working on one of our model houses, either fitting doorframes or building a wall. Students will gain an insight into basic construction and also get a full tour of our facilities.
Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Workshop
With our Style Zone training salons at both centres and our commercial outlet The Salon at Tottenham, students will have the opportunity to learn about basic hairdressing and styling techniques and basic techniques in beauty therapy in . The workshop can take place at either the College’s Enfield or Tottenham Centres.
Health and Social Care Workshop
Students will be given an opportunity to gain an insight into the various roles within the Health and Social Care sector and meet professional experts within this area. They will also take part in practical activities with equipment used to measure health and wellbeing. This workshop can take place at either the College’s Enfield or Tottenham Centre. Child Care Workshop
Students will be given an opportunity to find out about various roles in the child care sector. Students will be able to plan for children’s development, setting up a play area, experience the responsibilities of caring for a young baby and take part in other activities. This workshop can take place at either the College’s Enfield or Tottenham Centre. Let us know your preference.
Students will tour our ICT classrooms and find out about career opportunities within the ICT industry. They will receive a presentation on the career and opportunities in the ICT industry. The workshop can take place at either the College’s Enfield or Tottenham Centres. Let us know your preference.
Sports and Public Service Workshops
The College has on-site gyms at the Enfield and Tottenham centres, which allows sports students to develop skills in personal training and exercise and fitness. We also have our first class Football Academy, which is currently top in the country. There are two workshops available. Students can learn about anatomy, the effects of exercise and fitness testing. Male students aged 16 – 18 can try out for the College’s Football Academy. The workshop can take place at either our Tottenham or Enfield Centre. Trying out for our Football Academy is at our Enfield Centre only.
Our Science courses are outstanding and many of our students go on to university to study subjects, such as pharmacy and engineering. In this workshop, students will tour the College’s labs and facilities. They will have an opportunity to speak to current students and receive a presentation outlining all career opportunities in the science industry. This workshop can take place at either the College’s Enfield or Tottenham Centre. Let us know your preference.
Travel and Tourism Workshop
The Travel and Tourism workshop allows students to role-play in a number of settings so that they can develop customer service skills and gain insight in to the various careers within the industry, including cabin crew, hotel manager, tour operator and holiday rep. The workshop will take place at the College’s Enfield Centre.
We offer three creative workshops at the College. These are:
Music Recording: Inspire your year 10 students with a music technology workshop using the industry-standard Logic Pro or Ableton Live. Alternatively, you could record year 11s BTEC and GCSE compositions/performances in our professional recording studio.
Media Production: Inspire your Key Stage 4 media students with a video editing and special effects workshop using industry standard software.
Games and Animation: Engage your budding Key Stage 4 gamers with a character design and games production workshop or introduce media learners to the world of 2D animation using Adobe Flash. These workshops can take place at either the College’s Enfield or Tottenham Centre.
