About the Course

This course is designed for those who are fluent in English and a foreign language, equipping you with basic skills in interpreting. This will allow you to help members of your community with English translation, which is essential for those without English language skills to be able to access a wide range of public services, as well as opening avenues for further study and a career in interpreting. You will learn the basic skills of interpreting, the roles of a community interpreter and understand how public services work in the UK.

What Will I Need?

You will need:

  • English at Level 1 or ESOL Level 2
  • to be aged 19 or older and eligible to study in the UK

Upon enrolment, you will be asked to upload residency and income documents for college funding purposes. All applicants must have an interview and assessment to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

What Can I Do After?

Upon successful completion of the course you can progress into further study in this area.
