CONEL learners have high rates of achievement on our Music Technology courses.

Students at CONEL are celebrating their success after achieving a 94% pass rate this year on the Certificate in Music Technology. CONEL’s pass rate for the BTEC 1st Diploma was 93%. Last year 13 students on the same music technology courses went off to university including 21 year old Issac Da Cruz aka ‘Jyager’.

Isaac picked up a Learner Excellence Award at CONEL before going on to represent the College at the Archant North West Business Awards at the Emirates Stadium last December. At the
prestigious Westminster University where he is now studying Commercial Music, Issac’s talent continues to impress. He’s already signed for YNR-Productions and released his debut album in March 2009 internationally.

CONEL's music technology facilities have been re-vamped over the summer to match those of any top-quality professional studio. The new facilities now include a suite of top-specification Apple Mac computers and a brand new Valve TLA mixing desk - the same one used by top producer and chart star Dizzee Rascal.

With the latest software available including Pro Tools HD, Logic 9 Pro and Reason 4, CONEL’s studios will mean that anyone who isn't au fait with the production equipment will have access to the professional-standard facilities. CONEL Music Technology Lecturer, Cyrus Armstrong-James took time out from mixing a track to explain. “This is basically the best kit that money can buy at the moment. Any local budding musicians who have been producing tracks on a laptop in their bedroom can only give their material a truly professional sound by using this sort of kit - and enrolling on a Music Technology courses at CONEL will put it right at their fingertips."

Meanwhile, the College's Music Technology department also offers an air-conditioned and fully sound-proofed vocal booth, and - of course - teaching staff who are fully certified music engineers, on hand to help their learners' productions achieve a truly professional quality. And Issac, currently being courted by a number of major record labels, and following tours with
‘Jehst’ and ‘Sir Smurf Lil’ is currently in Switzerland finishing off the European leg of his tour….

You can buy Issac’s album on iTunes, HMV and through all good record retailers both on CD and download.
