The evening of Monday 3 December saw CONEL hold its Excellence Awards for 2007.

The evening of Monday 3 December saw CONEL hold its Excellence Awards for 2007. The Excellence Awards ceremony, which took place at the recently opened Bernie Grant Arts Centre, was organised by the College to celebrate the achievements of our learners, the commitment of our staff and the support of our sponsors and partner organisations.

More than 40 Excellence Awards were given to learners across all of the curriculum areas at CONEL, recognising those who have shown tremendous drive and commitment in the academic year 2006 to 2007, in addition to excellence in vocational skills and skills for life. Some students have overcome significant obstacles to success and the awards are recognition of their efforts and great determination.

Meanwhile, our employer awards were given out to highlight organisations that are excellent partners, working with the College to develop the skills of their workforce, including apprentices.

We also continue to recognise the dedication of our teaching and support staff, who show enormous levels of commitment to the College ? working hard to make CONEL an organisation that is excellent.

Guest of honour for the evening - which also featured performances by singer Lady K and the Divulge Dance Academy - was Dele Ogun, who is the founder and senior partner of Ogun@Law, a commercial law firm operating from the City of London.
