Open Day iPod Winner Sees Her Future with CONEL
The Winner of CONEL's latest Open Day prize draw visited the College recently to collect her prize - and to apply for a course here!
Alethia Jean-Marie entered the draw to win the iPod when she attended our Open Day in March, but she almost didn't make it to the College that day, as she explained: "I didn't know there was an Open Day at CONEL that day, but I had picked up a copy of the College's Course Guide at my local library. It had the dates of the Open Days in it, and I realised that an Open Day was happening right then, so I decided to come along."
Even before finding that she had won the MP3 player, worth over £170, Alethia was glad that she had visited the Open Day. "It was a really good way to find out about all of my options in one place," she said. "On the day, the staff I met were so friendly and helpful - I got a really good first impression of the College. My dream is to run my own drama school, so I was interested in Performing Arts. But after speaking to everyone at the Open Day, I'm actually applying for a Business course, and looking to start this September. I'm really happy with my choice. Winning the prize draw is an amazing bonus - when I first had the phone call to tell me I'd won I didn't believe it, but once I'd been convinced it was for real, I was so happy I was running around screaming!"
Chrissy Kapsalis, CONEL's Head of Learner Recruitment, who presented Alethia with her prize, said: "It's very fitting that we're giving the prize to someone who has decided to apply for a place here. I'm glad that Alethia - and hundreds of others - found the Open Day useful, and I wish her all the best for her future here and beyond."
