Hundreds flocked to enrol at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London on Saturday to sign up for courses to enhance their skills for work.
The College still has some places on a variety of full-time courses for young people as well as part-time courses for adults, ranging from Construction to Creative and Media – so if you haven’t enrolled already, don’t delay.
At the College's Enfield Centre, Sue Pereira enrolled on Level 3 Counselling, which will support her work as an outreach worker for children’s charity CORAM. The College offers counselling courses from Level 1 to Level 5 degree level.
Shahin Sultana Zaman was enrolling on an ESOL Level 3 course and will use her qualification to gain work in a local school.
Meanwhile, at the College’s Tottenham Centre, sisters Sadia and Faduma Tumaye were enrolling on BTEC Business and BTEC Science courses. Sadia hopes to become an accountant and Faduma a radiographer.
Luiza Dyjasek, who models part time, enrolled on the College’s Fashion Photographic make-up course, and Binge Aongya from Canada and Jesus Dosu from Ghana, who both speak French as their first language, were enrolling on maths and English courses so that they can pursue careers in community interpreting.
A recent student satisfaction survey showed how satisfied learners are at the College. An overwhelming 96% are satisfied with the quality of teaching and learning, 95% are satisfied with their course, 95% said they felt safe at the College, 94% said they were treated with respect, and 90% said they would recommend the College to a friend.
Enrolment at the College for this academic year will continue until Friday 24 September.
