Thrilled College students studying A2 and AS Turkish at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London received their results today.
Almost 70% of learners who completed their AS and A2 Levels at the College received a grade at A, B or C, with a third receiving an A grade at A2, and a fifth receiving an A grade at AS Level. The overall pass rate at A2 Level was 100% and at AS Level the pass rate was 95%.
Eighteen year old Yagmur Yapici visited the College earlier (Thursday 16 August) to pick up her A2 results. Yagmur achieved her Turkish AS last year, and was delighted with her A2, which gives her 380 UCAS points.
She said: “I’m really happy as now I have enough points to enrol on the Psychology and Criminology course at Brunel University in September. My aim is to become a Psychiatrist.”
The AS Level, which is broadly equivalent to the first half of a full A Level is a standalone qualification. After completing the AS Level students often go on to study the A2 Level which gives them two qualifications, equivalent to a full A Level.
Jane O’Neill, Vice Principal for Curriculum and Learner Experience, said: “Year on year we see learners perform well in Turkish A Levels. The AS and A2 Levels give our students additional UCAS points which means they have more options for university and for employment.”
