College raises five hundred pounds for Comic Relief
It was giggles all round for Comic Relief as students and staff at The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London, joined forces to raise money for those in need.
Learners paired up with staff to participate in a College quiz as twelve teams battled it out for the title of ‘Brainiest Bunch’.
Learner Nadine Morgan-Scott (21) who is studying Youth Justice, and staff from the College’s Marketing and Communications team seized the winning title, narrowly beating off stiff competition from a promising Construction team.
Nadine said: “Joining forces with staff as part of Comic Relief was a great experience. The quiz was a fun way to get people involved and raise money. “
Overall, the College raised £500 for Comic Relief which goes towards helping people and communities in need across the UK and around the world. Other activities as part of the College’s week of fundraising events included ‘pick a pose’ and ‘pop a penny in the bucket’.
Quizmaster Howard Jeffrey, the College’s Director of Learner Support, said: “Our staff and learners always enjoy a challenge as well as getting involved to help good causes. “
