College trains barbers to be the best
College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London student, Renault James, is on top of the world as business is booming at his barber shop business, Look Sharpe.
In response to demand the College has just launched new barbering courses from Level 1 to Level 3 so that others can follow in Renault’s footsteps and make their living as expert barbers.
Some places are still available, so anyone interested in practising their trade in the time-honoured tradition of male grooming should hurry on down.
The College’s Tottenham Centre is one of the few places in the country where barbers can qualify at Level 3, in a sector where top barbers can expect to charge £60 for a cut and wet shave.
Renault, said: “I chose to study Barbering at the College as I wanted to be a cut above the rest. I had skills but I knew these could be enhanced. The tutors were top class, teaching and working across the world, so I learnt a lot and gained the confidence to go out and do it alone.”
Vice Principal for Curriculum and Learner Experience, Jane O’Neill, said: “There is a sector skills shortage for Level 3 trained barbers who can offer traditional treatments like wet shaving, and we are one of the few colleges to offer training to this level.”
Enrolment at the College runs until Friday 28 September but the sooner people come down the better chance they have of getting on a course of their choice. Barbering courses are available from Level 1 to level 3. For more information and enrolment times, click here
