Learners win best product at Young Enterprise London
Supported Learning students at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London were celebrating last month when they won best product at the Young Enterprise London finals held in Canary Wharf.
The team consisted of nine students who won The Young Enterprise Team Award with their coaster and notebook designs.
The Award encourages students with learning disabilities to learn work based skills by setting up and running a company over the course of a year.
The team set up ‘Team Logik’ and together they devised, made and sold the products in the College shops and Spitalfields Market, before submitting them for an award at Young Enterprise London.
Student, Alex Temple, said: “We are really happy we won, we made lots of products and worked really hard.”
Course Tutor, Alison Meeds, said: “It has been a pleasure to work with the group this year. They’ve been involved in the whole process of setting up their company and put a lot of effort in selling the product on the day."
The team also sold their products at a London wide trade fair later in the month.
