College's Open Day to help parents and students with job advice
The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London is offering parents and young people advice on how to get into College at its Tottenham Open Day, Wednesday 14 November 4 â€“ 7.30pm. The Open Day is part of Colleges Week which is taking place across the country from 11 â€“ 18 November.
This year, College’s Week is all about the advantages vocational courses and gaining qualifications for employment. Also, as part of Colleges Week the College has uploaded Quizl a dedicated careers advice application to its Facebook page. Targeted at 14-18 year olds, Quizl has been developed by the Association of Colleges and Babcock Lifeskills to help young people understand the options available to them.
Quizl is available from the College’s facebook page so young people who want to complete it need to simply ‘like’ the College’s facebook page here and complete the quiz.
Jane O’Neill, College Vice-Principal said, “The College is here to help young people and adults make informed choices about their options, so that they can gain the skills and qualifications they need for work.”
The College has a range of Pre-Apprenticeships which visitors can apply for at the Open Day in nine different subject areas from account and business admin to ICT, Construction, Hairdressing, Science, Media Production, Travel and Tourism and Health and Social Care. These 14 week courses train students for full time apprenticeships.
Visitors to the Open Day will also be able to take part in subject ‘taster’ events and tours of the College.
