People wanting to boost their careers or start out on a great one, should attend the College of Haringey, Enfield and North London's March Open Day. The Open Day, which will take place on Wednesday 16 March is at the College' Tottenham Centre.

This is the last chance to meet tutors, find out about courses face to face, and tour the College before enrolment starts in August.

Running between 4-7.30pm, Open Days are an essential step in choosing the right course. The College has hundreds of vocational courses - classroom or work based and at all levels of study - so it’s easy for students to make the right choice.

If anyone thinks their maths, English and IT and Computing skills are letting them down, they can study these key and functional skills at the College while at the same time being enrolled on a vocational course such as, plumbing, hairdressing or ICT.

The College has produced many great achievers over the years, going onto university or straight into work, such as the late Bernie Grant, who lead Haringey Council and went on to become an MP.

More recently the College was proud to tutor Chanelle Calica, aka MC Shystie, who studied Music Technology and went on to be nominated for a MOBO. She said: "The College was a great way for me to learn about the music business. My tutors were very supportive and experienced in the industry, and we were taught in an industry standard music studio, which was a huge advantage. I left with a lot of confidence and totally prepared to progress with my career."

She added: "I chose the College after attending an Open Day and getting a good feeling about the place - it's a great place to study."

People who need help with funding or childcare can speak to Learner Support Services on the day, and Advice and Guidance are available to help complete application forms.

Applying early to the College improves applicants’ chances of getting on the course of their choice, so it is an ideal opportunity to ask questions and apply straightaway.

All visitors will receive a free goody bag and refreshments and be eligible for a free prize draw for a chance to win an iPod Touch.
