The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London’s apprenticeship agency – Apprenticeships First – recently attended the Enfield Job Fair where more than 1600 jobseekers turned up to find out about job opportunities.
The Fair, organised by Enfield North MP Nick De Bois to tackle rising employment figures, was held at Southbury Leisure Centre and opened by Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
Apprenticeships First had various apprenticeship offers available in a wide range of areas, including ICT, fashion, rail engineering and accounting.
Phil Gowan, Director of Vocational Skills and Employer Engagement, said: “It was a positive day and good to meet so many people interested in apprenticeships. It was also good to meet employers who we can possibly work with in the future.”
Mayor, Boris Johnson, said: “It's amazing to see the energy and excitement of young people who came here today to get jobs and apprenticeships."
