The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London will be celebrating National Science and Engineering Week at its upcoming Tottenham Centre Open Day on Tuesday 13 March.
Science and Engineering at the College is Outstanding, which means our learners have continuously performed considerably above the national average for three years.
On the back of this success, the College is expanding its provision and introducing three new courses in September 2012 which are; Engineering Level 2, Engineering HNC and Lab Technicians Apprenticeship Level 3.
This means people who are interested in studying Engineering can go from a Level 2 to a Level 4 at the College. While those interested in learning while earning can apply for an apprenticeship, or if wanting to fast track to university can apply for our Access to Higher Education course.
The Open Day is an ideal opportunity for people to come down and take part in Science and Engineering workshops, while speaking to tutors and finding out what it is like to study at the College.
Science and Engineering Week, which is run by the British Science Association, shines the spotlight each March on how science, technology, engineering and maths relate to our everyday lives and helps to inspire the next generation of scientists with fun and participative activities.
Head of Science, Georgina Lambrianides, said: “The College is very proud of its Outstanding status and the fact that we are over performing in an area that is nationally underperforming. Anyone interested in a science related career will have exceptional training at the College and should come down to the Open Day to find out more.”
The Open Day will run from 4pm – 7.30pm and will have tutors available from the College’s 14 curriculum areas. For more information, visit: www.conel.ac.uk/opendays
