The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London is running a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science Level 3 course from September 2013 to give students the qualifications they need to study sports at university.
London’s 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games have led to an increase in the number of people who want to study Sports Science at university resulting in many colleges and universities investing a great deal of money to update their sports facilities.
Sports Science is also a growing area in employment and in recent years huge interest has emerged in fields such as performance enhancing exercise, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning and sports therapy.
The College’s Sports Science BTEC Level 3 Extended qualification has been specifically designed to develop both the theory and practical application of sports science principles, giving our learners the best possible chance of progressing onto a higher education course.
College Director, Kurt Hintz, said: “The College is in a great position to teach Sports Science to the highest level. We’ve invested in some of the latest physiological testing equipment. In addition we have a gym and sports facility, ensuring learners gain knowledge in the areas that universities and employers are looking for.”
