Goldman Sachs Deliver Employability Workshops at CONEL
Representatives from Goldman Sachs investment bank visited CONEL’s Tottenham and Enfield centres last month (Wednesday 11 May and Thursday 12 May) to deliver employability workshops.
The employees from Goldman Sachs investment bank came from different areas such as HR, Finance and Investment Banking, volunteered their time and expertise to deliver four employability skills workshops. Yen Vu, Associate at Goldman Sachs stated: “It was a great experience. The staff members were very enthusiastic and helpful, and the learners were very engaging. Many thanks to the College for giving us the opportunity to participate in this meaningful event.”
The students took part in a 2.5 hour session consisting of four workshops. Simran Kasba studying BTEC Level 2 Science said: “The sessions were fun and helpful. I enjoyed the group work and the experience gave me more confidence to speak publicly. Goldman Sachs also gave some useful tips to help me succeed at interviews.”
The workshops encompassed the key skills employers are looking for, interview skills and an insight into the career pathways of Goldman Sachs employees. Anshika Srivastava (pictured), Associate at Goldman Sachs said: “I was very impressed with the way the employability workshop was organised and conducted. The students were very engaged and were curious to share their stories and learn from experiences. I was very happy to be part of the workshop and share the skills that I have learnt over time.”
Anthony Robinson, Quality and Learner Experience Manager stated: “This was a great event as the workshops helped to broaden the student’s expectations about what they can achieve by interacting with employees from a blue chip company.”
In total, 360 students benefitted from these workshops, increasing their employability skills whilst preparing themselves for the world of work, and more are scheduled for the new academic year 2016/17.
