Apprenticeships enable businesses to grow their skills base, resulting in increased profits, lower prices and better products.
Figures show 2.4 million people started Apprenticeships from 2010 to 2015, with the number of taking an Apprenticeship in 2015/16 up 3.2% on the previous year. In 2014/15 there were more than 250,000 employer workplaces with an apprentice.
Employers say that qualified apprentices are more employable than those with other qualifications, with Apprenticeships boosting productivity to businesses by on average £214 a week.
