The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London's English and Maths GCSE students were delighted with their results this year. More than 90% of English and Maths GCSE students successfully achieved their qualifications enabling them to move on to the next stage in their studies and careers.
Charifa Derbal is just one of the many classmates who came in early on results' day to find that she had achieved the very best grades, Charifa received an A in maths.
Charifa completed her Maths GCSE while also studying ICT and Computing Level 1 and Accounting Level 2 at the College. She studied ICT and Computing during the week and Accounting on Saturdays.
Charifa said: "I'm delighted that I got such a good grade in maths and this will really help me in my accounting career."
Charifa's shares a story similar to a lot of students who did not do well in their GCSEs at school but go on to achieve great success at the College.
Interim Principal and Chief Executive, Jane O'Neill, said: "All young people now need to achieve level 2 in English and maths and the college has already achieved great success in doing this. It is very exciting to see our students progress to the next step of the ladder. I congratulate all the students and wish them luck for the future."
