College Visit by Royal Navy to promote healthy eating
The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London welcomed the Royal Navy Chef Fit for Life team to its Tottenham Centre, for an interactive cookery demonstration (28 January). Sport and Public Services students worked with a trained Naval Chef to cook healthy curries in a session designed to emphasise the importance of healthy lifestyles and diet to ensure overall well-being and top performance academically and athletically.
The session was a real success, and gave the students a great opportunity to develop both their knowledge and practical experience of leading a healthy lifestyle.
Petty Officer (PO) Skayn Smith, who runs the Royal Navy Fit for Life classes said “The enthusiasm and willingness to take on board what the team had to offer was of the very highest of standards. We travel nationwide and the whole team are in agreement that it was one of the most impressive classes we have taught.”
Royal Navy Month continues throughout February and the College will be hosting more events, talks and trips to help encourage, develop and benefit our leaners.
