The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London was recognised for the quality of its Apprentices last Thursday (6 March) when Laura Hensey and Emma Egglestone two Business Administration apprentices won awards at Enfield Council's ‘Apprenticeship Celebratory Event 2014’. Held as part of National Apprenticeships Week, guest speakers included Enfield Council's Chief Executive Rob Leak and Deputy Mayor for Enfield, Councillor Ingrid Cranfield.
Laura and Emma completed their Business and Administration Advanced Apprenticeships Level 3 in January of this year. Both women won the Star Award for Best Business and Administration Apprentice across the whole of the Council and all training providers.
The annual celebratory event celebrates the achievements of the Council's apprentices in all of its many and varied teams. The event also helps to promote the benefits of apprenticeships to young local people and to encourage them to apply.
Jane O'Neill, Interim College Principal and Chief Executive, said: "I am absolutely thrilled for Laura and Emma in winning these well-deserved awards. Not only have they had the benefit of a very good employer but they have also gained excellent qualifications as well as work experience from learning on the job."
