Introduction to the course
You will spend two evenings a week in College developing advanced skills and knowledge of accountancy and other aspects of the apprenticeship framework. The core units you will study are: contributing to management of performance and enhancement of value, contributing to the planning and control of resources and drafting financial statements.
You can study part-time two evenings a week or on Saturday for Level 3 and Level 4 taking you on your way towards a chartered accountancy qualifications, such as, CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW or degree programmes.
What do I need?
You will need to take simulated assessments and external exams at Level 3 to qualify for this course. You must be employed within an accountancy role to qualify as an apprentice.
How is the course taught?
This course is taught in the classroom, and includes workshops, guest speakers and visits.
How will I be assessed?
You will be continuously assessed through skills tests and exams.
What does it lead to?
You could progress to an Accounting Degree, Diploma in Management Studies, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA and ICAS or payroll course.
Skills in preparing published accounts, cash flow statements, reducing business costs, preparing and managing budgets, are highly prized by all employers.
