Introduction to the course

This is a practical and work-related course will develop your technical IT skills.

You will have the opportunity to learn specialist ICT skills relating to PC building, upgrading and maintenance.

This vocational course is made up of the following units:

  • Customer Support Provision

  • Computer Systems

  • Networking Principles

  • Systems architecture

  • Web fundamentals

  • Instal and Configure ICT

What do I need?

You must be aged 16 or over.

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade D-G or the equivalent Level 1 qualifications at Pass grade.

How is the course taught?

The course is taught mainly through classroom lectures and a range of practical work-related assignments, which will help you to develop your competencies to entry level standard in industry.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed via a portfolio of your written and practical assignments. There will also be online testing to assess your key skills.

What does it lead to?

You could progress onto :

  • ICT BTEC Level 3 Diploma (90 Credits) equivalent to two A Levels

  • ICT BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (120 Credits) equivalent to three A Levels

  • Access to Higher Education Information Technology (IT) Diploma Level 3

  • A Level 3 Apprenticeship programme

Employer's Benefit
